Tourists flocking to the Valley for sunbathing, not snow angels, this holiday season

Other places in the country might have a white Christmas, but here in Phoenix we’ll have a bright and sunny holiday.

Out-of-town guests are soaking up the sunshine at our local resorts.

Who needs snow when you can have sunshine, and a lot of it!

Out-of-town guests are loving a holiday in the Valley with temperatures hovering near the 80s.

They are trading in winter coats for summer bathing suits.

"We were like, where’s warm? Scottsdale, here we go!" said Michelle Micci, who is visiting from California.

Drinks are flowing and the sunshine is beaming.

"We came out here for the sunshine, and we are not disappointed!" said another visitor, Michael.

Out-of-staters are ditching the white Christmas for a desert wonderland.

"This morning it was 40 degrees and raining in Lexington, Kentucky, so this is a nice break from that," said Dillon and Shelby.

Five days before Christmas; baby, it’s warm outside.

"We’ve done snow in the past for Christmas, and I think this year we just wanted something warm so Scottsdale and Phoenix were the perfect option!" said Michael who is chill with the warmer weather.

"The warmth! Not having to wear a jacket, sweats or a layer," said Michelle.

"Sunshine and good vibes for sure," said Dillon and Shelby.

Forget the snow angels when you can just sunbathe or go for a splash.

At the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, guests lounge by the pool as staff members bring out frozen drinks.

It’s the perfect holiday when the only kind of salt you need to worry about, is the salted rim of a margarita.

"It’s 80 degrees, and I’ve got a drink in my hand, and toes in the sand!" said Michael.

Temperatures look to cool down into the 70s by Christmas, but these visitors say that lounging poolside is the perfect present.
