Panorama Produce issued a recall for 302 boxes of mangoes because they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The Food and Drug Administration said in a recall notice that the items were sold in select Walmart stores and distributed in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

FDA officials noted that no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the recalled mangoes.

A safety alert was issued after federal regulatory testing reportedly found salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm as the recalled fruit. The mangoes that tested positive were not distributed in U.S. commerce.

Mangoes recalled

Why you should care:

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the recalled mangoes are packaged in a Martina-branded case, and the individual mangoes can be identified by a light blue sticker with the label Agrofepac, Produce of Mexico, and a PLU number of 4584 and UPC # 07503061948050.

If I have the recalled mangoes, what should I do?

What you can do:

Food and Drug Administration officials are urging consumers to use the product identifiers to determine whether the mangoes are part of the recall.

Anyone with the recalled mangoes should throw them away or return the items to where they were purchased. If you believe you might have become ill, you should contact a doctor.

Consumers with questions can contact Panorama Produce via email at the following address: information@panoramaproduce.com Monday through Saturday 9am – 7pm ET.
