Uber, Turo offering ‘pool truck’ rental for Labor Day: but only in these cities

A pickup truck with a working pool in the bed is part of Uber and Turo’s free Labor Day rental promotion in Los Angeles and Miami. (Uber x Turo)

Uber and Turo are teaming up on a limited-time rental experience that’s designed to turn heads — a pool truck.

The promotion offers a free two-hour reservation in Los Angeles and Miami, where guests can lounge in a pool built into the bed of a pickup truck. Uber says the activation is a way to showcase its new partnership with Turo, now available through the Uber app.

Where you can try the pool truck

Local perspective:

The trucks will be stationed in two cities only:

  • Los Angeles (Santa Monica Pier, Aug. 23–24)
  • Miami (Bayside Marketplace, Aug. 30–31)

Reservations open on Aug. 20 and must be made in the Uber app. Availability is limited.

What’s included in the experience?

Guests who book a slot will get two hours of poolside fun with:

  • A dedicated attendant for setup
  • Popsicles, music, and summer swag
  • A take-home kit with essentials like sunscreen and tote bags
  • A $300 credit toward a future Turo rental booked through the Uber app

Uber is also covering rides to and from the activation so guests don’t have to worry about transportation.

A pool party kickoff in Los Angeles

Before the official rollout, Uber and Turo will host a pool truck party at The Grove in Los Angeles on Friday, Aug. 22.

The event will be hosted by Leah Kateb, a cast member on Peacock’s "Love Island: Beyond the Villa," and will feature frozen treats, giveaways, and an early look at the truck.

What if you’re not in LA or Miami?

What you can do:

Even if you can’t book the pool truck, Uber and Turo are offering nationwide perks. Through Sept. 1, customers can browse a curated collection of Turo rentals in the Uber app and get $25 off any booking of $100 or more. Uber One members also earn 10% back in credits on every rental.
