Protesters started fires near the White House as tensions with police mounted during a third straight night of demonstrations held in response to the death of George Floyd at police hands in Minnesota.

A Los Angeles Police Department vehicle was captured on video striking at least two protesters surrounding the SUV during a protest Sunday in the wake of the death of George Floyd during an encounter with police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

The former Minneapolis police officer who has been charged in the death of George Floyd is now in custody at the Oak Park Heights prison, according to Department of Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has weighed in on the ongoing police brutality protests across the U.S. with a photograph on social media that shows the former vice president kneeling with a protester at a demonstration in Wilmington, Delaware. 

As demonstrations condemning the death of George Floyd continue across the U.S., some local officers and deputies are being praised for crossing the lines and participating in the protests. 

U.S. Attorney General William Barr condemned the “violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups” amid widespread protests over the death of George Floyd during an encounter with police in Minnesota, warning that those responsible will be treated as domestic terrorists.

Chanting "No justice, no peace," "Silence is compliance," and "arrest the police," rallies in St. Petersburg were largely peaceful.

Secret Service agents rushed President Donald Trump to a White House bunker on Friday night as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the executive mansion, some of them throwing rocks and tugging at police barricades.

Amid several days of protests, some of which have devolved into chaos, that have erupted across the country in response to the death of George Floyd, residents across the U.S. have taken to the streets to clean up their neighborhoods. 

Tens of thousands marched peacefully to protest the death of George Floyd,. but many demonstrations sank into chaos.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp released video of the Georgia Department of Corrections Special Operations Unit leaving for Savannah, Georgia to assist local law enforcement and “ensure peaceful assembly” amid ongoing protests.

Protesters spelled out their outrage following the death of George Floyd by spray-painting it on several monuments on the National Mall, including the World War II Memorial dedicated to soldiers killed in combat.

Minnesota National Guard soldiers are armed and the guard’s top general has requested military police units from out of state after he said the FBI received a “credible, lethal threat” against forces amid protests over the death of George Floyd.

The weekend of May 30 was supposed to signify hope as stores in Los Angeles County were given the greenlight to reopen after being closed for months due to the coronavirus... however, that’s not the case anymore.  

Target, CVS, Apple and Walmart all said Sunday that they had temporarily closed some locations for safety reasons.
