Police say 38-year-old Richard Lopez threw hot coffee at a QuikTrip worker and stole merchandise in Tucson. When an officer tried to arrest Lopez, police say he attacked the officer, hitting him with a can of food. The officer suffered a broken cheekbone and vision trouble. Lopez is accused of several charges, including aggravated assault on a peace officer.

'Emily's Law' alert system passes in AZ Legislature
