Police in New York City said from the start that the shooting does not appear to be random and that the victim, 50-year-old Brian Thompson, was targeted outside the Hilton hotel in midtown Manhattan. The shooter rode a bike from the scene and disappeared into Central Park, five blocks north of where the shooting happened.
