Joseph Kinney was arrested on Sept. 3 at his home in Goodyear. Police say the Buckeye Union High School principal was messaging who he thought was a young girl on the social media app Whisper. The 42-year-old was actually communicating with an undercover detective in Oregon.

Police say he went into a house near 56th Avenue and Thunderbird Road Wednesday afternoon. A woman inside had an order of protection against him. There was also a child inside. Both were able to get to safety.
