Gallego is running for the seat currently held by Independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who announced last week she will not seek re-election. The leading Republican candidates in the Senate race are Kari Lake and Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb.

Kyrsten Sinema. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is also running for the Republican nomination, while Congressman Ruben Gallego is running for the Democrats. Sinema has not officially announced her intentions for 2024. If she runs again, it will likely set up a three-way race for the Senate seat.
