In December 1982, a chemist named Dr. Matthew Francis Betkowski took his own life using cyanide inside a Boise, Idaho church. Carrying no ID, a tan in the dead of winter, and leaving key evidence linked back to his home via an engraved key, his suspicious death raised immediate flags. Decades later, cold case investigators re-examined evidence and uncovered disturbing statements Betkowski made about placing poison in over-the-counter capsules.
