Police: Teen arrested in Mesa kidnapping

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A valley teen has been arrested in connection to a kidnapping incident at a house in south Phoenix.

Mesa police say family members arrived home at 520 N. Mesa Dr., and discovered that the adult babysitter, 17-year-old teen and a 3-year-old boy were missing from the apartment.

Shortly after, a relative received a phone call indicating that all three victims were being held against their will.

Investigators traced the suspects and victims to a home at 3154 E. Chipman. Initially, four suspects were taken into custody and the victims were recovered safely.

During the course of the investigation, a 16-year-old teen was arrested and the remaining suspects were released.

Because the suspect is a juvenile, his identity is not being released.
