A crash in downtown Phoenix on Monday morning turned deadly, causing a major backup on I-10. Lanes have since reopened. The incident occurred just after 4:30 a.m. near 7th Avenue.

A 6-year-old child died and a 4-year-old was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision on I-10 in Phoenix that shut down part of the freeway late Sunday, authorities said.
