2 killed, third victim injured, in west Phoenix shooting

A 12-year-old girl and an adult were both shot and killed early Sunday morning in west Phoenix.

Neighbors report hearing shots fired at about 2 a.m. Police say two adults 12-year-old Maleah Ellis were sitting in a car in the driveway when someone drove by and fired shots at them.

Witnesses reported seeing a man leaving the area in a light-colored vehicle afterwards.

Officers say Maleah Ellis and 31-year-old Angela Linner were both killed in the shooting.

The third victim, a 33-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital and remains in extremely critical condition. Police are continuing to gather evidence and investigate the deadly incident.
