PD: Armed man surrenders peacefully during barricade situation

A man surrendered peacefully after barricading himself inside a home near 51st Avenue and Osborn on Wednesday night.

Phoenix Police evacuated several homes while officers talked with the armed suspect.

Officers first got a call about a man who reportedly fired a rifle into the air while standing in front of his house.

Authorities were able negotiate with the man and end the situation peacefully.
