PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police say a man is in custody after he ran onto Interstate 17 armed with a knife and jumped onto the roof of a car.
According to Phoenix police, the half-naked man ran onto I-17 armed with a knife, and jumped onto the roof of a car before being shot twice by officers with a bean bag gun.
After being shot, the man kept running and jumped over the railing of the overpass, landing more than 15 feet below onto the road.
The man survived the fall and was taken into police custody.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, Seventh Avenue remains closed under I-17.
