Police: Reverend failed to register as a sex offender for decades old crime
PHOENIX - A Valley church employee was arrested after police say he failed to register as a sex offender.
Court paperwork states the offenses were decades ago, but he neglected to report his whereabouts for almost a year.
This is a case of a 67-year-old man, Reverend Stacy Lee. He's the minister of the Covenant Kingdom International Church in Phoenix.
Lee was convicted of two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor in 1984. He received lifetime probation, which means he was supposed to keep police and the sheriff's office up to date on where he lived at all times.
According to court paperwork, Lee was living with his wife last year in Scottsdale. He moved out of the home to Peoria and on to Surprise, but the courts say he failed to tell officials about the move.
