Snacks sold at Target, QVC recalled over salmonella concerns

Contaminated dry milk powder has led to another recall of some products sold at QVC and Target over salmonella concerns.
John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. announced they are recalling several snack mixes and trail mixes that were seasoned, in part, with the dry milk powder. The products were distributed under their Fisher, Squirrel Brand and Southern Style Nuts brands in stores and through QVC.

Items impacted by recall
Five different flavors of trail mix and snack mix products were recalled, across four different brands.
- Fisher - Tex Mex Trail Mix (30 oz)
- Southern Style Nuts - Gourmet Hunter Mix (23 oz)
- Southern Style Nuts - Gourmet Hunter Mix (36 oz)
- Southern Style Nuts - Hunter Mix (30 oz)
- Squirrel Brand - Travellers Mix (16 oz)
- Squirrel Brand - Town & Country Mix (16 oz)
- Squirrel Brand - Town & Country Mix (7.5 oz)
- Good & Gather - Mexican Street Corn Trail Mix (8 oz)
What we know:
The seasoning used for the products was initially tested and came back negative for salmonella.
At this time, the company has not received any reports of illnesses connected to any of these items. However, as a precaution, they are asking consumers not to eat any of them and return them to the store for a refund.

Dry milk powder contaminated with salmonella
The backstory:
California Dairies, Inc. previously recalled a dry milk powder because of a concern of possible salmonella contamination. The milk was supplied to other manufacturers to use as an ingredient in other products. Many of those products are now issuing recalls for their products.
