Suzanna’s Kitchen bone-in breaded chicken recalled due to undeclared allergen

Consumers can check the label from the recalled cases of the 8-piece cut, bone-in breaded chicken portions which were produced Oct. 16, 2025. (USDA)

Approximately 62,550 pounds of Suzanna’s Kitchen fully cooked, bone-in breaded chicken products have been recalled due to an allergen not listed on the packaging.

What we know:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says the chicken contains soy which is not  listed on the product label. Soy is a known allergen and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says it is one of the "Big Nine" major food allergens, causing  hives, tingling, upset stomach, and can escalate to severe, life-threatening anaphylaxis, with symptoms including difficulty breathing, throat swelling, rapid pulse, dizziness, or loss of consciousness.

Dig deeper:

The USDA FSIS says the 8-piece cut, bone-in breaded chicken portions were produced Oct. 16, 2025 in 18-lb. cases containing four units of "FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS," with case code "P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04" printed on the side of the packaging. The packages were shipped to restaurants nationwide.

According to the USDA FSIS, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the chicken products, but FSIS says some products may be in restaurant refrigerators or freezers and restaurants are urged not to serve the chicken and dispose of it.
