Train slams into school bus in Maricopa

MARICOPA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A train slammed into an empty school bus along State Route 347 in Maricopa on Thursday night.

Authorities say the bus stalled on the train tracks before the collision. The driver of the school bus got out of the bus safely before the collision and was not injured.

SR 347 was closed for several hours as a result, but it has re-opened.
