ASU Police officials have rolled out a new feature for a campus safety app, as the topic of police brutality and police reform remain a topic of national conversation.

Authorities are investigating a seven-car crash in Glendale Wednesday afternoon near Cactus Road and 59th Avenue. 4 people were hospitalized with injuries.

Witnesses told Glendale officers a driver had driven through a red light before the crash. Three people, including a child, are in the hospital.

Capt. Ashley Losch said on Aug. 24 that the child "took a turn for the worse while in the hospital and passed away."

The eastbound lanes reopened at 75th Avenue, and the westbound lanes reopened at 67th Avenue after a deadly crash on Aug. 21.

The Arizona Cardinals was defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in a preseason game on Aug. 20.

Spencer Okeefe, 27, now faces burglary charges after a catalytic converter was cut from a Kia SUV parked outside of a Glendale rehab center back in July.

Glendale decided not to renew their operating agreement with the hockey team, citing “an increased focus on larger, more impactful events” for the arena after the season ends.

Residents and businesses over the next several weeks will receive information on shutting down the free deliveries of bottled water provided by the Glendale base since the February discovery of chemicals from firefighting foam in water from Valley Utilities Water Co. wells, a Luke statement said.

A Glendale father was shot and killed on Aug. 7, leaving behind his baby daughter. His family is raising money to cover funeral expenses and his daughter's future.
