City of Goodyear announces possible compromise of its bill payment system
GOODYEAR, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Officials with the City of Goodyear say they are investigating a possible compromise of its bill payment system.
According to the statement, which was posted on the city's verified Facebook page, the city has taken the bill payment system out of service, and it will remain out of service until an investigation is complete.
City officials are urging people who have made a payment to the city using a debit or credit card, either in person or online, to check their account immediately, and contact their credit card issue as soon as possible, if they see a suspicious transaction.
In addition, city officials say they will directly contact those whose information was compromised.
