Domino's delivery man helps nab robber

A Manhattan pizza guy helps police deliver justice... and his pie on time!

It happened on March 29 on the Upper West Side. Officers with NYPD's 20th Precinct spotted a suspect from a recent robbery where a man ripped off a woman's AirPod headphones.

The suspect ignored officers' orders to stop and began running across West 72nd street toward Broadway. They say the suspect, Lovell Ambrister, began throwing fake $50 bills out of his pockets as he ran away.

Cops say Domino's delivery man Alou Bathily saw what was going on and yelled "I'll stop him officers!" and peddled ahead of the suspect, and pulled the bicycle across his path.

It delayed him just long enough for four officers to catch up and arrest Ambrister.

Police say Ambrister has seven prior arrests that include robbery and grand larceny. Police took him to jail. Information about a lawyer was not available.

The officers said in a Facebook post: "We're told the pizza guy still managed to honor the 30 minute delivery guarantee on the pie."

The story even caught the eye of Mayor Bill de Blasio, who tweeted, "Kudos to the pizza delivery hero" before giving a backhanded compliment to Domino's pizza.
