Flight out of OC makes emergency landing in Reno after passengers hurt in severe turbulence

A Delta flight made an emergency landing Wednesday at Reno-Tahoe International Airport after the plane reportedly encountered severe turbulence.

Video posted by a passenger shows drink and food items from a cart scattered throughout the aisle of the plane, which was traveling from Santa Ana, California to Seattle, Washington.

Records show Delta Airlines flight 5763 was diverted around 1 p.m. to an emergency landing in Reno, due to reported injuries on board.

Three people were transported to local hospitals, the Reno-Tahoe Airport said.

Passenger Joe Justice tweeted the Delta crew "handled it perfectly, even the emergency landing."
