Glendale Police arrest 3 in murder of young man

Glendale Police used social media to track down and arrest three teens in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Brenner Anderson.

Anderson was killed during an apparent robbery last week while he was trying to sell marijuana.

Two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old girl are now facing charges. It all happened at an apartment complex near 43rd Avenue and Ocotillo. Police say the 17-year-old girl met with Brenner to buy marijuana, but she brought two men with her and shots rang out leaving Brenner dead.

Haylee Anderson knew her son Brenner was selling marijuana and using social media to find customers. She tried to get him to stop.

"I think it is the wrong way to do things, a dirty, nasty, dangerous world obviously," said Haylee Anderson.

Police say the teen agreed to buy some pot for $140. When Brenner arrived to make the sale 18-year-old Salem Ornelas and Talmontrai Taylor were with the girl. During the transaction, shots rang out and Brenner was left for dead.

"I think they are disgusting, they don't have a right to do things like that, there are no words for it," said Haylee.

Haylee is trying to process what happened and is still in shock.

"He was a good kid. He was getting ready to go back to school; he wanted to go into the army. He was a loving uncle and brother. Just a good kid all-around good kid," said Haylee.

Taylor, Ornelas, and the teenage girl are all facing felony murder charges.
