Man accused of assaulting clerk, stealing phone at Cricket store

Police are trying to find a suspect who assaulted an employee and stole a phone from a Cricket store.

The incident happened on Thursday, April 21st at about 2:15pm. According to Silent Witness spokesperson Sgt. James Rothschild, the suspect acted like he was interested in buying a couple of phones. Police say he grabbed one of the phones and assaulted the employee, then ran out of the store with one of the phones.

The suspect reportedly told the employee, "I need the money, sorry!" and left the store.

The man accused of this crime is described as a black man in his early 20s, six foot one inch tall, weighing about 180 pounds. If you recognize him, you're asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. There is a cash reward involved and you can remain anonymous.
