People hoping to hit the Mega Millions jackpot

The last Mega Million winner was back in March and since then, the third-largest jackpot in the game's 20-year history has arrived.

People in Phoenix are confident that $540 million jackpot is going to them.

"You don't have to interview anyone else because I just bought the winner," Beverly said.

Beverly is a single mother of three and would use her winnings to move from her apartment to a home, but she isn't the only one buying tickets at the Chevron on 44th Street and McDowell.

In fact, Matt is already a winner, thanks to his wife.

"My wife has won $3,000 over the past two years, so this is the beginning and we'll keep going until we win," he said.

Although the chances to win the jackpot are 1-in-259-million, Gregg Edgar, with the Arizona Lottery, says the chance you'll win something isn't too bad.

"What's fun about Mega Millions is 1-in-14.7 people win a prize, whether it's a dollar, a million dollars or the big jackpot," he said. "It's pretty exciting."

Make sure you get your tickets by 6:50 p.m. tonight. The drawing is at 8 p.m., and if you win and decide to take the lump sum, you'll take home $378 million.
