Phoenix Fire crews rescuing hiker who climbed too high, ran out of water

Phoenix Fire technical rescue crews are at Papago Park this afternoon attempting to rescue a hiker.

William Benedict with the Phoenix Fire Department says the hiker climbed up too high and is unable to get down from the mountain on his own.

Benedict also tells Fox 10 Phoenix that the hiker is out of water and not feeling well.

The technical rescue crew is using a rope system to rappel to the hiker.

Fox 10 Phoenix has crews on scene as well and we will bring you the latest updates as new information becomes available.
