TSA braces for Thanksgiving-week travelers

Traditionally, it's the busiest travel time of the year, but this year could be even busier.

TSA is reporting that they're likely to screen 2.4 million air passengers each day during Thanksgiving week, and they could break the record of 2.71 million people screened in a single day in 2004.

From checking in to taking off, the foot traffic will be noticeable.

The high numbers, although sometimes an inconvenience, aren't shocking, as the TSA says they processed more travelers last summer than any previous one.

Passengers say most of it is out of their control, but planning extra time, checking in early, and packing light can ease some of the pain. Also, never underestimate the power of patience.

"What are you not thankful for?" I asked.

"What am I not thankful for? Traffic?" one passenger said.
