The Phoenix City Council appointed nine members to a civilian review board to help oversee the Phoenix Police Department. The group of nine Phoenix residents includes people with backgrounds in mental health, veteran care, homeless outreach and more. The board will review reports compiled by the city's Office of Accountability and Transparency and vote whether to implement changes suggested by that office.
