DPS: Manhattan terror attack suspect was in Arizona in 2014

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - FOX 10 Phoenix has learned that the suspect in the Manhattan terror attack had spent some time in Arizona.

Arizona's Department of Public Safety (DPS) has confirmed they issued Sayfullo Saipov a speeding ticket in May of 2014. Saipov was driving a commercial vehicle on the I-17 near Flagstaff, when he was stopped by a trooper.

DPS said Saipov had a Pennsylvania driver's license, and was given a ticket, as well as a repair order for his commercial vehicle.

It is unclear what brought Saipov to Arizona.
