Facebook announces changes coming to mobile profiles

Facebook announced changes are coming to improve mobile-friendly profiles.

In a press release, Facebook says three main improvements are are the way that will give users more opportunities to express themselves and more control of profile content.

The biggest change coming is the ability to use a short, looping video clip as your profile picture.

In addition to the new video clip, Facebook says users will also have the ability to set a temporary version of their profile picture that will revert back to the previous profile picture at a specified time. Facebook says this change is to allow people to create a temporary picture specifically for certain moments and events.

Other improvements include a new 'Bio' field at the top of a user's profile page and overall improved profile layout.

So far, the new changes have been rolled out to a small number of iPhone users in California and the United Kingdom. The company says the changes will be available to everyone soon.
