Woman accused of "botox and bail" at Valley spa; bail denied by judge
PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- A Valley woman is arrested and accused of running out of a spa without paying for the services.
The incident happened at the Suddenly Slimmer Day and Med Spa located near 32nd Street and Indian School Road. According to officials with the business, Lindsay Kane owed $1,885 for 60 units of Botox and two Juvederm Vollure Dermal filler injections. After Kane's credit card was declined, investigators said she ran out, and jumped into a pickup truck just west of the area.
"Alright ma'am, you have two matters before the court," said the presiding judge in Kane's first court appearance. "The first is a new one, the other is a warrant. As to the new matter, it's one count theft of obtaining services without paying. Class six felony."
According to police, Kane, 36, admitted to using a fake name, date of birth and address when she received the services at the spa on Tuesday. Kane tried to pay with a temporary credit card, but once it got declined, the staff asked her to wait for the police. Kane, however, took off out the front door. Police arrested Kane at her Avondale home, where she reportedly hid in the attic.
During an off-camera interview, Kane's roommate said he picked her up from the spa in his truck, but had no idea she did not pay for the service.
"You're not eligible for bond on this one today, because you're already on felony release," said the presiding judge during Kane's court appearance.
Kane is set to appear in court again on Tuesday, May 14.
