Arizona unit working on island on Florida's Gulf Coast

PHOENIX (AP) - An Arizona search and rescue unit has been deployed to an island on Florida's Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Irma.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Larry Subervi says Arizona Task Force One is conducting search operations in the small, remote community of Goodland Island, Florida.

The island is located south of Naples, Florida.

Subervi says the Arizona unit spent Monday night on the grounds of an elementary school on nearby Marco Island.

The unit deployed to Florida after initially being sent to Texas in the aftermath of Harvey.
