Residents evacuated after two Glendale apartment buildings damaged by flooding
GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The Red Cross says dozens of people were evacuated after rains and flood waters damaged units at two different apartment buildings in Glendale.
According to a spokesperson for the Red Cross, flood waters damaged an apartment complex near 63rd Avenue and Glendale -- at least eight units were damaged.
At least 25 people and their pets had to be evacuated from that complex and they have been displaced at this time.
A second apartment complex near 67th Avenue and Glendale was also damaged.
Red Cross workers first learned of problems at one apartment complex at 3 a.m., and then got word of problems at the second one at about 4:30 a.m.
The Red Cross says the total number of people evacuated from the two buildings is likely to increase.
