Royal Rumble brought good business to some Downtown Phoenix businesses

PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- The WWE action continues Monday night at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Downtown Phoenix, following an exciting weekend.

On Sunday night, more than 48,000 fans showed up for the Royal Rumble at Chase Field, and they are spending some serious cash.

"It was a good day, it was a good day," said La Piazza owner Justin Piazza.

La Piazza is usually closed on Sundays, but for the Royal Rumble, many made their way there to grab a bite to eat.

"Yesterday we opened, and it was insane down here," said Piazza.

Piazza says on a normal day, they make about $4,000.

"We did close to that, on a day we don't normally open," said Piazza.

After the Royal Rumble, those thousands of fans poured into the popular spot Hanny's.

"Everyone was about the suplex city for sure," said Chris Parsons, bartender at Hanny's. "This place was packed from 10 to close. Shoulder to shoulder."

Parsons says it was for sure a busy night. Even some familiar faces came out.

"There was quite a few wrestlers sitting at the bar, women from the royal rumble at the bar," said Parsons.
