Phoenix man creates ordinary furniture into concealed hiding places

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Have you ever needed a really good hiding place? One valley man can turn your every day ordinary pieces of furniture into cool hiding spots.

Michael Reynolds had a very personal reason for creating a cool hiding place.

"I've got small kids in the house so with everything that we hear of kids getting into their parents' firearms, prescription meds, pretty much anything," Reynolds said.

About a year and a half ago, Reynolds started building customized furniture from tables to shelves.

"The top lifts up. An option with us is that you can add the locks. No matter what you put inside, it's definitely secure," Reynolds said.

Reynolds' concealed creations can customize an existing piece or be built from scratch. The only limits are imagination or budget.

"Firearms are the biggest ones that I have custom orders for. For different industries, stuff like t hat, the medical marijuana industry has been real good," Reynolds said. "It just kind of eliminates the temptation. It benefits a lot more than just sticking your gun where people don't see it."

The pieces are not child-proof, but they're locked.

"This is one of the magnetic keys that we offer. There's a couple different variations."

With magnetic keys, remotes, and also hidden switches, Reynolds says with enough protection, it can keep a solid secret.
