Teen arrested in man's murder in Mesa, police say

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area and once at the scene, they found 24-year-old Marquis Johnson who had been shot. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mesa Public Schools District is seeking to take social media companies to court over practices they consider harmful to the mental health of young people. The governing board voted unanimously to work with outside counsel to file a complaint. An Arizona lawyer says research confirms algorithms for apps like TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube have contributed to anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts among young people. Meta says it has the required tools to help them be safe while online.

Drivers weigh in as ADOT set to begin its pavement improvement program along parts of US-60

With enough state funding, work is set to begin on a project that officials hope will improve the pavement along a stretch of the US-60 Superstition Freeway in the East Valley. The project, according to ADOT officials, should wrap up by summer.
