Slate Fire burning near Flagstaff now 17% contained

The Slate Fire burning northwest of Flagstaff grew again overnight, but it is now 17% contained. Windy conditions contributed to the growth of the fire, which has now burned more than 6,000 acres. Highway 180 remains closed between mileposts 235 and 248 because of the fire.
