Fundraiser held to benefit family of slain Chandler officer

The fundraiser for the family of Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar will be held on May 3 at Cobblestone Auto located near Alma School and Germann Roads. The 18-year police veteran was struck and killed by a suspect who was driving a stolen vehicle, police said. Funeral plans for Farrar have yet to be announced.

Protesters call for end to anti-Asian violence during Chandler rally

The rally, which happened in front of the Chandler City Hall, took place in the aftermath of the shooting deaths of eight people, many of whom are Asian Americans, in Atlanta. While, police have yet to say whether the shootings there are racially-related, it has been noted that acts of hate against the AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) community have seen a dramatic increase.
