The Mesa Police Department says they are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in the area of Barkley and Main Street.

The City of Mesa's Emergency Rehabilitation program is helping income-eligible families with emergency repairs and it received a big boost in federal funding. And one of the families that has already benefited are the Bechtels. FOX 10's Danielle Miller reports.

The Bezos Academy, funded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, is partnering with Mesa Public Schools. They plan to open three year-round preschools for kids ages 3 to 5. In order to qualify, a family of four cannot earn more than about $120,000. The schools will be located at Sandra Day O'Connor Elementary School, Charles D. Poster Junior High School, and Fremont Junior High School. The schools are expected to be open in 2025.

Police arrest suspect in connection to man's murder in Mesa

When officers got to the scene, they found 22-year-old Deazo Seghi sitting in the driver's seat in a parked car. Deazo had been shot multiple times and was taken to a hospital where he later died.

A bus crashed into a home Monday night near Broadway Road and Spencer. Several people who were hurt in the crash were rushed to the hospital.

Investigators say a Dodge pickup truck drove through a stop sign and crashed into the bus head-on near Broadway Road and Spencer. The crash caused the bus to cross eastbound traffic before it hit several parked cars and crashed into the home. Police are still looking for the truck driver. FOX 10's Linda Williams reports.
