Four separate shootings, three people killed, another person injured, and a person is detained, the Mesa Police Department said in a news release on May 27.

One person is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting broke out at a gathering near 51st Avenue and McDowell.

Trooper hurt in Phoenix 'critical incident'
Authorities in the Phoenix area are investigating an incident that Phoenix Police described during the early afternoon hours of May 25 as an 'active critical incident.' While witnesses reported shots being fired during the incident, police officials have yet to confirm any details on what happened. We have learned that a law enforcement officer was injured in the incident, and was taken to the hospital. FOX 10's Lindsey Ragas, Irene Snyder and Brian Webb report, in team coverage.

According to police, officers responded to the Knight's Inn motel near Interstate 17 and McDowell Road at around 12:30 a.m. on May 23 after a woman reported that she had been taken by a man who was still inside a room.
