Christmas Eve 2020 was the last time Monique Cardiel saw her son, 18-year-old Tyler, alive for the last time. Tyler was heading to work, and while he was walking back home, Tyler was allegedly killed by Timothy Bell. Now, prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Bell.

"Officers were called to the area and learned that a sedan was traveling northbound on 83rd Avenue, when it lost control and collided with a large tree," Sgt. Cole said.

“Investigators learned a Nissan 350Z was traveling west on Thomas Road when the driver failed to stop for a red light and struck a van that was traveling south on 91st Avenue,” Sgt. Justus said in a statement.

Police say 35-year-old Michael Anthony Herber was sitting in his car near 70th Avenue and Indian School Road on Dec. 9 when he was shot and killed.

Police say the crime happened at a Walmart location near 75th Avenue and Buckeye Road on Dec. 30 just before 8 p.m.

Two men were found shot in their cars - one near 71st Avenue and Indian School in west Phoenix, and another near 28th Drive and Peoria in north Phoenix.

Crime along the 27th Avenue Corridor has been rising since 2018, and Phoenix Police officials say they want to focus on the area in an effort to curb criminal acts.

Officials say the crash happened just before 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 9 at the 67th Avenue on-ramp.

Phoenix police are investigating a shooting after two men were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to Phoenix Police, the shooting happened on Dec. 27 at around 11:10 p.m. near 79th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

Police say the suspect jumped a fence at the concert venue and lit several areas of the stage on fire, as well as a water fountain in the courtyard area.

A fight had broken out outside of the QuikTrip near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road at around 2 a.m. on May 16, police say.

Authorities say a Corvette was driving south down 67th Avenue when it left the roadway, hitting a tree and seriously injuring the occupants inside.

A man suffered smoke inhalation injuries after a fire broke out at a home near 79th Avenue and Lower Buckeye on Nov. 28.

Three people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire burned a home near 51st Avenue and Thomas.

Once at the scene, police found 46-year-old Armando Carrillo suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Initial info indicates this will be a minor-injury hit-and-run collision,” the department said on Nov. 4. “A vehicle struck a DPS Trooper and did not stop. A search of the area is ongoing.”
